Although many people associate Spring Break with surfing and sunbathing on the beach, others prefer a winter landscape. If you want cool, spectacular views and a variety of natural activities, look no further than British Columbia. The entire province is full of fun things to break in March. Skiing is of course the first thing you think of your spring break vacation in British Columbia.

The ski season is in full force until early April to try if, in the North Shore trails, while you’re there. The side of Whistler-Blackcomb will host the Winter Olympics of 2010. You can catch a glimpse staying in Cypress, the largest ski resorts in North Shore. Cypress Mountain is full of activities for visitors of all ages. Besides skiing, there is a zone of cross-country skiing, snow tubing and other activities during the evening.

Grouse Mountain is another of the North Shore roads. The ski area offers 20 trails and an amusement park. You can send a gondola ride to the top of the hill, driving without a down. Seymour Mountain, the third makes use of the runway. It has a variety of winter sports such as tubing, tobogganing and dog sledding.

Interior of British Columbia offers some of the biggest ski areas of the powder in the province. You can at Big White in Kelowna, British Columbia, being less than one hour trip to Penticton, British Columbia, and Apex Ski Resort and Silver Star in Vernon, British Columbia. But not enough, you can not forget absoultely Sun Peaks Resort, just 45 minutes from Kamloops, British Columbia.

Although there are many great sites of spring skiing in British Columbia, it depends on what you are looking to find the best experience for you and your family. If it’s powder skis hard core dog you are looking for, try Big White and Sun Peaks. It may be more of a family trip you want – in this case, Silver Star and Sun Peaks are beautiful villages that are not too commercialized. Or for the more distant places like Fernie Alpine Resort in Fernie, British Columbia, or go to Kicking Horse Mountain, near Golden, British Columbia. No matter where you go in Beautiful British Columbia, there are areas of great skiing.
