Qualicum Beach attracted our attention when we were there. A stroll along the promenade, we had views of Lasqueti and Texada islands and snow-capped mountains on the mainland in the distance. Qualicum has a strong belief in the preservation of monuments and antique shops, galleries and museums are worth a stop.

Campbell River, another seaside resort, is known as the capital of the salmon fishery of Canada. During a visit to the marina, it was not a surprise to the jetty, we saw masses of masts. Campbell River is also one of the top five diving destinations of the world because it believes that in water, the variety of marine life and shipwrecks recognized.

“As wild as you want!” Campbell River is a slogan. Between skiing and scuba diving, Mount Washington, the Strait of Georgia, which seems to be an apt motto. There are hiking trails meandering through lush forests, which are worth seeing where the sounds of wildlife are a song in my ear. From the beach we saw cruise ships, cargo ships, barges, sailboats, yachts and travel by ferry to Quadra Iceland Discovery Passage. It is a maritime museum with a collection of over 500 artifacts, some 2,000 years. There is also the operating system of the John Hart dam above Campbell Lake is worth the detour.

Traveling the road to Gold River is well worth the effort. It is considered the “Cellar Capital of Canada”. Upana caves are easily accessible and safe for beginners who love the sport of caving. There are also many more miles of caves in the region both for beginners and adventure seeking.

The West Coast Trail follows the contours of the wild west coast of Iceland and Vancouver is one of the main attractions of Ucluelet. Tropical forests meet pristine beaches and there are panoramic views of Barkley Sound and the Broken Pacific Rim National Park, Lighthouse Park is another attraction, where a day was a bit foggy, you beacon warning boaters aware of treacherous and rocky coast can hear. The wild coast, as seen from the trail, is typical of many of the BC coast. During the winter storms of the surge can be as high as 20 feet. Ucluelet is whale watching expeditions each spring and celebrated popular migration of 20,000 gray whales.

In Long Beach has a very different bank rolling with miles of white sand. When we were there, high waves and surfers were enjoying the excitement of catching a wave. There are many warnings to users and others who never turn their backs to the sea and pay particular attention to water.

We stopped at Cathedral Grove Provincial Park is located on Cameron Lake. The park is a preserved section of the lush forest of old-growth, many trees are 800 years or more. Walking among these giants, we were surprised by the beauty, endurance, strength and power of nature.

Victoria, British Columbia, the capital of the “city of gardens known, is an ideal location, at any time of year to visit. Butchard Gardens is a particularly beautiful place to visit the Parliament Buildings.

We have time, the Inner Harbour, Old Town, Chinatown, James Bay, Fisherman’s Wharf and Beacon Hill Park, inside to explore all of downtown Victoria. This can be achieved on foot two-story buses, bus or boat tours worked. Victoria is home to several unique museums and historic buildings.

Other attractions include underwater gardens, wax museum, the Butterfly Garden, Craigdarroch Castle Fort Rodd Hill and Fisgard Lighthouse, the first West Coast lighthouse.

There are many other places in Vancouver to visit Iceland, but a real discussion of this interesting island could take a very long time.
